Tony Winner ‘The Humans’ To Extend Broadway Run At New Theater

The Humans, the family drama from Stephen Karam that won four Tony awards this month including Best Play, has found a new Broadway home. It will move a block away to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, with its first performance there set for Tuesday, August 9.

The show’s final performance the Helen Hayes Theatre is Sunday, July 24. It looked like the multiple-award-winning play might have to cut short its limited Broadway run because of scheduled significant renovations at the Helen Hayes beginning in August. The show will pick up after a two-week hiatus for the move.

Directed by Joe Mantello, the ensemble cast includes Cassie Beck, 2016 Tony Award winner Reed Birney, 2016 Tony Award winner Jayne Houdyshell, Lauren Klein, Arian Moayed and Sarah Steele.
