UPDATED, 6:25 PM: USA said today that Andy Greenwald will host Hacking Robot, the Mr. Robot aftershow that premieres July 13 following the hacker drama’s Season 2 bow. Greenwald co-hosted the Game of Thrones aftershow program After the Thrones on HBO this season and previously co-hosted a Thrones-related podcast on ESPN’s former affiliate site Grantland.

PREVIOUSLY, June 23: USA Network has upped its Season 2 order of Golden Globe-winning drama series Mr. Robot from 10 episodes to 12 episodes. In addition, creator and exec producer Sam Esmail will direct all 12 episodes this season, and USA has set live after show Hacking Robot to air following the two-episode season 2 July 13 premiere.

Following the trend of live after shows, Hacking Robot will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the breakout drama, USA says.

“The first season of Mr. Robot was everything we hoped for – and then some,” said Chris McCumber, President Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “So it’s no surprise that Sam and team have raised the bar even more in season two. From the first moments of the new season, it’ll be clear that audiences are in for something incredibly special and wholly unexpected.”

“Strap in! The extraordinary ride that is Mr. Robot continues with a wild season two. It’s a brilliant and immersive journey that demands to be watched again and again,” said Jeff Wachtel, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and President, Universal Cable Productions and Wilshire Studios.

Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater). The July 13 episodes will pick up 30 days after the now infamous fsociety 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp. Season 2 will explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.

The series also stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen. New recurring guest stars include Craig Robinson, hip hop artist Joey Bada$$, Sandrine Holt, Michael Maize, Dorothi Fox and Luke Robertson. Returning cast members include BD Wong, Gloria Reuben, Michael Drayer, Michel Gill, Ron Cephas Jones, Sunita Mani, Azhar Khan and Ben Rappaport.

The drama hails from writer and executive producer Esmail as well as Anonymous Content executive producers Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

Hacking Robot is executive produced by Aliyah Silverstein and is a Wilshire Studios production.
