EXCLUSIVE: Mark Cuban, NFL All-Pro Rob Gronkowski and the new face of Victoria’s Secret Sara Sampaio have joined the film The Clapper, writer-director Dito Montiel’s comedy that also stars Ed Helms, Tracy Morgan, Amanda Seyfried, Russell Peters and Adam Levine. The story follows Eddie Krumble, a professional clapper for infomercials who gets plucked by a late-night TV host to be on his talk show. The notoriety that his 15 minutes of fame brings ends up costing Krumble his job as well as a budding relationship with a girl who works at a gas station. The script was based on Montiel’s book.

They all join Leah Remini, P.J. Byrne and Mickey Gooch Jr. and Brenda Vaccaro. Gronkowski is a tight end with the New England Patriots. He and Cuban appeared as themselves in an episode of HBO’s Entourage.

Cuban said was drawn into The Clapper not only by a funny-as-hell script but also by the actors already working on the film. He will have a cameo opposite Morgan. Cuban told Deadline the script was “hysterical. I also thought it was an incredible opportunity to work with great people. This gave me a chance to work with Tracy Morgan, Adam Levine and Ed Helms. I had a blast doing it. It’s a fun movie and really hysterical.” Although he wouldn’t give details, he said he plays himself in the film.

The Shark Tank star and Dallas Mavericks owner also is one heck of a human being, just having donated $1 million to the Dallas Police Department to help protect the city’s LBGT community in light of Orlando shootings that took 49 lives and injured 53. The funds will go directly to pay for about 16,000 hours of overtime for police officers with additional patrols in the community.

Gronkowski and Sampaio also have cameos as themselves in The Clapper.

The Clapper is being produced by Alex Lebovici, Steve Ponce and Michael Bien of Oriah Entertainment along with Helms and Mike Falbo through their Pacific Electric shingle as well as Robin Schorr through Schorr Pictures. The film is executive produced and financed by Ray Bouderau of Living the Dream Films and Gooch via his Skitbags Entertainment.

Fortitude has been handling foreign sales for the property. Cuban is repped by WME. Gronkowski is is managed by Henry Penzi.
