Alysia Reiner (Orange is the New Black), Jeremy Strong (The Big Short) and Ashley Zukerman (Manhattan) have signed on for recurring roles in Season 4 of Showtime’s Masters of Sex.

Reiner will play Anita. Outspoken, attractive, hyper-confident, in a Gloria Steinem way in her early days – she leads a feminist empowerment group and challenges Libby (Caitlin FitzGerald) to raise her consciousness as a woman in the late 60s. Strong will portray Art. A psychologist from the Kinsey Institute brought in to be Johnson’s new partner in the expanding practice. He’s smart, gregarious and open, creating a refreshing frankness in his and Virginia’s partnership. Zukerman is new clinic patient Gary Diebold, a tightly wound man upset that he no longer seems to pleasure his wife. Raised to be a “gentleman,” he just can’t understand why she wants him to be less “gentle” in the bedroom. They join previously announced Season 4 guest stars Niecy Nash and Betty Gilpin.

The new season of the historical drama about the duo who pioneered research into human sexual responses will begin in 1968 and take viewers into the “swinging ’70s,” during which time the characters will take on new partners both professionally, personally and sexually. Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan star, respectively, as Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson. Annaleigh Ashford also stars.

Production on Season 4 is underway in Los Angeles for a September 11 premiere. The series from Sony TV is executive produced by Michelle Ashford, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Amy Lippman and Judith Verno.

Reiner is repped by Abrams Artists Agency, Harden-Curtis Associates and Affirmative Entertainment. Zukerman is repped by APA, Cohn/Torgan and Lisa Mann Management.
