Netflix Picks Up Detective Comedy Film ‘Handsome’, Jeff Garlin Stars & Directs

Netflix has acquired the film Handsome, directed by and starring actor-comedian Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs)The Columbo-style mystery comedy, written by Garlin and Andrea Seigel (Laggies) centers on L.A. homicide detective Gene Handsome (Garlin) who tries to make sense of his life as he solves crime. He’s really good at one of those.


The film co-stars Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory), Christine Woods (Hello Ladies, Perfect Couples), Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black), Amy Sedaris (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Steven Weber ( iZombie), Eddie Peppitone (Love), and Leah Remini (King of Queens). David Miner (Master of None), Vern Davidson (The Goldbergs), Garlin and Seigel serve as producers.

Garlin stars on the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs. He also is expected to return to the just-announced ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. He is repped by ICM Partners, 3 Arts and attorney Jared Levine.

Seigel recently sold her pitch Significant Other to STX with Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston attached to star. She is repped by UTA and Kaplan/Perrone.
