CBS Taps Jim Lanzone To Be Chief Digital Officer Overseeing All Web Operations

CBS Interactive CEO Jim Lanzone needs to find more room on his business cards this morning as he picks up an additional title: He’s now also Chief Digital Officer, a newly created job that reports to CEO Les Moonves.

“For the past five years, Jim has built a successful business and organization at CBS Interactive, which is now a thriving and profitable operation – and one of our most exciting growth engines as we move to build CBS All Access, CBSN and many other important initiatives in the digital space,” Moonves says. “Now, as our first-ever Chief Digital Officer, Jim will bring that expertise and influence to all of CBS’s businesses by working hand in hand with digital operations across the Corporation.”

CBS Interactive’s audience has more than doubled since he joined as president in 2011, following the company’s acquisition of Clicker Media which Lanzone co-founded. He became CEO of the unit in 2013.

Before launching Clicker, he was CEO of (a/k/a Ask Jeeves), which IAC/InterActivecorp bought in 2005.
