ABC and dick clark productions are teaming with the creators of For the Record to develop For the Record Live for TV. The genre-bending production turns the soundtracks of iconic director’s films into immersive live-entertainment events. Creators and producers Shane Scheel and Anderson Davis have staged productions based on the work of acclaimed directors Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, John Hughes and others.

For the Record Live is a first-of-its-kind live musical event made for ABC,” said Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment. “The show will be a game changer for the genre.”

For the Record began in 2010 in a small bar in East Hollywood. Since then, FTR has played in New York, Chicago, SXSW and the Montreal International Jazz Festival and has a residency at the Las Vegas Palazzo Theatre celebrating the movie music of Baz Luhrmann starting June 25. For the Record returns to LA on September 21 to celebrate legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese with American Crime Requiem.

“The first time I saw For the Record, I knew it would make a great live TV event,” said Mark Bracco, EVP Programming and Development for dick clark productions.  “We are thrilled to partner with ABC and For The Record to create a truly unique live television experience.”

For the Record Live will be executive-produced by Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Mark Bracco, and Scheel. Ben Roy will serve as co-EP.
