‘America’s Got Talent’ Ratings Down, ‘Bachelorette’ & ‘Person Of Interest’ Even

One week after its Season 11 debut and the return of Simon Cowell to Big 4 primetime, America’s Got Talent (2.2/8) was still tops on TV, but not without a tumble and The Bachelorette (2.0/7) as competition.

While the top-rated and, with 10.65 million tuning in, most-watched show of Tuesday night, AGT fell 15% among adults 18-49 from its May 31 opener – which was tied for a premiere low for the competition show. Last night’s AGT also dipped 8% in the key demo from the second show of its 10th season on June 2 last year — though it could make that up in adjustments later today. Last night, lead-out variety show Maya & Marty (1.2/4) was also down three tenths from its debut last week. Still, NBC won the night with a 1.9/7 rating and 8.73 million viewers.

A special Tuesday edition of The Bachelorette was even with Monday’s show but helped push up ABC’s overall rating 157% over last week to a 1.8/6, right on NBC’s heels. A special Robin Roberts-hosted 20/20 (1.4/5) focused on Bobby Brown, which easily won the 10 PM slot, certainly didn’t hurt the net’s uptick.

CBS and the CW were all encores on Tuesday except for Person Of Interest (1.0/3), which was the same as its May 31 show. Fox’s Hotel Hell (0.7/3) and Coupled (0.5/2) were down a tenth and even with last week, respectively.
