EXCLUSIVE: Mad science and unknown supernatural terrors meet the struggle to overcome painful loss in Shortwave, a new horror film from first-time feature director Ryan Gregory Phillips set to have its world premiere this weekend during L.A.’s annual Dances With Films festival. The story follows Josh and Isabel Harris who, suffering the loss of their only child, relocate to a secluded hillside research facility where they hope to repair their broken family. Years later, Josh and his research partner, Thomas, have a breakthrough involving a cryptic shortwave radio signal and its universal origins. But something in that signal resonates causes Isabel to experience visions of old memories. Possibly hallucinations, the scientists investigate as Isabel becomes convinced something sinister has arrived.
