Liv Hewson has been cast as a series regular opposite Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant in Santa Clarita Diet, Netflix’s upcoming single-camera comedy series from creator Victor Fresco, Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Tracy Katsky’s Kapital-based KatCo, which is set for a 2017 debut. Richard T. Jones also has joined the cast in a major recurring role.
In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel (Olyphant) and Sheila ( Barrymore) are husband and wife realtors leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita, until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending both their lives down a road of death and destruction…but in a good way.
Australian actress Hewson will play Sheila’s (Barrymore) daughter. Jones is Rick, a friendly and laid-back Santa Monica police officer who gets high with Joel (Olyphant).
Hewson, repped by Primary Wave Entertainment and Aran Michael Management in Australia, has a starring role in Viki’s Dramaworld and recurred on A Class Act. Jones will be seen in upcoming Warner Bros feature ChiPs. On the TV side, he recurred in Netflix’s Narcos and FX’s American Horror Story: Hotel. He’s repped by Don Buchwald and Associates and Traverse Media.
