Benderspink Breaking Up After 18-Year Run

UPDATE with statement: Chris Bender and JC Spink announced today they are calling it quits on Benderspink, the pair’s 18-year-old management and production company. Both will start new ventures, we’re told; Spink no longer works at the company’s offices.

“We started Benderspink in our late 20’s almost 18 years ago,” a joint statement said. “We could not be more proud of what we’ve worked on together and are excited for the next chapter in each of our lives.”

The duo’s producer credits include David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, The Ring movies and more recently the Vacation reboot and Lionsgate’s Kevin Costner actioner Criminal which bowed in April.

Bender is currently a producer on David Robert Mitchell’s pic Under The Silver Lake which just sold to A24 at Cannes. Benderspink also repped the deal on their newbie writer Joe Greenberg for his spec script Man Alive that just sold to Fox for Noah Hawley to direct.

THR reported the Benderspink news first today.
