‘Quantico’ Ratings Steady In Finale, ‘Last Man On Earth’ Falls From 2015, ‘Carmichael Show’ Steady With Last Week

On the eve of the beginning of the Big 4 Upfronts presentations this week, the broadcast nets were pretty close to playing a full deck last night – and, of course, there were some finales on the table.

First the newbies, ABC’s The Family (0.8/3) and Quantico (1.0/4) were both up a tenth from their May 8 shows. For the now cancelled former, that’s an uptick end to a tractionless run and, with 3.29 million watching, its best viewership since its third episode of March 13. For the back next year latter, with its closing seconds set-up for star Priyanka Chopra’s Alex possibly getting a new gig, it is pretty even with how the Mark Gordon produced show has performed in recent weeks.

ABC had another finale on Sunday with a 2-hour Once Upon A Time (1.2/4) that had mixed results. While up 9% among adults 18-49 from its 1-hour show of last week, the fairly tale drama was down a hard 33% from its 2-hour Season 4 ender of May 10 last year. Overall, ABC won the night in the demo with a 1.1/4 rating as CBS took the viewership top spot with 7.75 million watching.

As for the House of Moonves, Undercover Boss (0.9/3) was back but taking a 25% hit from its last original of February 5, a Friday at 8 PM. Otherwise, both a regular 60 Minutes (1.0/4) at 7 PM and a special 60 Minutes Presents (1.0/4) at 8 PM are the same as the vet news mag got last week.

Another finale of the Sunday night was the 9:30 PM Season 2 end of The Last Man On Earth (0.9/3), which was even with its May 8 show. However, compared to last year’s finale of May 3, 2015, which was a much slightly more competitive night, last night’s very dramatic TLMOE fell 36%. With encores scattered throughout, Fox also saw the now shuttered Bordertown (0.5/2) up a tenth as was a live call-in The Simpsons (1.2/4). Bob’s Burgers (1.0/3) and Family Guy (1.3/4), which was the top rated show of the night, were even with last week.

Coming after getting a last minute Season 3 pick-up on Sunday, The Carmichael Show (0.8/3) was up a tenth from last week. Keep an eye on that though, as the now renewed topical comedy actual got a 0.8 in early numbers last week but was adjusted down in the final numbers. Now cancelled Crowded (0.7/2) was even with its May 8 show while Dateline at 7 PM (0.7/3) and 10 PM (0.9/3) were up 40% and down 10% respectively from last week.
