‘The Carmichael Show’ Renewed For Season 3 By NBC

That was quick. An hour after NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt said that the network was hoping to resolve The Carmichael Show‘s renewal situation in “the next couple of days,” a resolution has been reached, and the comedy has been picked up for a 13-episode third season.

The sticking point in the negotiations between NBC and leading studio 20th Century Fox TV had been the number of episodes for Season 3, with NBC reportedly asking for fewer than 13 — around 10 — something the studio would not accept. (The Carmichael Show‘s first season consisted of six episodes, the second of 13.)
