‘Game of Silence’ Drama Canceled By NBC After One Season

Seven episodes into Game of Silence‘s freshman run, NBC has opted not to pick up the drama series for a second season. The dark thriller, based on a Turkish format and in the vein of the movie Sleepers, has been steady but low-rated, logging a 0,7 adults 18-49 Live+same day rating for the past five airings. The series was a co-production between Sony TV and Universal TV.

The cancellation of Game of Silence has no bearing on the ongoing pickup negotiations between NBC and Sony TV for several drama pilots in contention, Timeless, The Blacklist spinoff and Cruel Intentions. All are in the running, with the first two close to being locks. The holdup in the negotiations has been NBC’s new policy of demanding in-season stacking rights for all new shows.
