Amanda Peet To Star In Hank Azaria IFC Comedy Series ‘Brockmire’ From Funny Or Die

Amanda Peet, coming off a starring turn on the HBO comedy series Togetherness, is set as the female lead opposite Hank Azaria in IFC’s comedy series Brockmire.

Based on a Funny Or Die short, Brockmire centers on a famed Major League Baseball announcer (Azaria) who suffers an embarrassing and very public meltdown on the air after discovering his beloved wife’s serial infidelity. A decade later, Jim Brockmire decides to reclaim his career and love life in a small town, calling minor league ball for the Morristown Frackers.

Peet will play Jules, the strong-willed owner of a struggling minor league baseball team located in a small American rust belt town that has seen better decades.

Set to premiere early next year, the series is written by Joel Church-Cooper and will be directed by Tim Kirkby. It will be executive produced by Azaria, Church-Cooper, Kirkby and Funny or Die’s Mike Farah and Joe Farrell.

Peet, who played Tina Morris on HBO’s Togetherness, most recently appeared on the film side in 2015’s Sleeping With Other People. Other TV series credits include The Good Wife and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
