EXCLUSIVE: Amy Poehler will host a premiere screening of indie drama Paint It Black at the Los Angeles Film Festival next month and moderate the Q&A with director/co-writer Amber Tamblyn and the cast afterward.

Paint It BlackThe pic stars Janet McTeer and Alia Shawkat as women from different worlds who, after losing the man they both loved, are joined in shock and grief when they are drawn into a twisted relationship that reflects equal parts distrust and blind need. Rhys Wakefield, Nancy Kwan, Emily Rios and Alfred Molina co-star in the film, on which Tamblyn is making her directing debut. She co-scripted with Ed Doughterty based on Janet Fitch’s novel. Wren Arthur, Amy Hobby, Anne Hubbell and Tamblyn are the producers.

The premiere event is set for June 3 at LACMA’s Bing Theater.
