Jesse Peretz Seals Deal To Direct ‘Juliet Naked,’ Based On Nick Hornby Book


Jesse Peretz has just sealed a deal to direct the film Juliet, Naked based on the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby, who is the genius behind About a Boy, High Fidelity and Brooklyn.

Juliet NakedJuliet, Naked is the story of Annie, the long-suffering girlfriend of Duncan, and her unlikely transatlantic romance with once revered, now faded, singer-songwriter, Tucker Crowe, who also happens to be the subject of Duncan’s musical obsession.

Financing is Los Angeles Media Fund (LAMF) is financing the picture. Judd Apatow, Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa (Little Miss Sunshine, Nebraska), Barry Mendel (Bridesmaids, The Royal Tenenbaums), and Jeffrey Soros are producing. Simon Horsman is an executive producer.

The script was written by Tamara Jenkins (The Savages, Slums of Beverly Hills) and Jim Taylor (Sideways, About Schmidt) with revisions by Phil Alden Robinson and Evgenia Peretz.
