‘Snowden’ Trailer: First Look At Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Edward Snowden

The official trailer has dropped for Oliver Stone’s Snowden, the story of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. From Open Road Films and based on true events, Snowden tells the untold personal story of the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world, considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others.

Directed by Oscar winner Stone and and co-written by Stone and Kieran Fitzgerald, the film also stars Melissa Leo (as Citizenfour director Laura Poitras), Zachary Quinto (as journalist Glenn Greenwald), Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Olyphant and Nicolas Cage. Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff and Philip Schulz-Deyle are the producers.

After begin pushed back twice form its original release dates of December 25, 2015 and May 13 of this year, the film will bow September 16.
