Disney ABC Television Group says it will offer “pre-negotiated agreements” to its affiliates to help them cut distribution deals with streaming services. The arrangements include terms for stations’ linear feeds as well as VOD.

The initiative, called Clearinghouse, will begin with two agreements involving ABC-owned stations. One is with AT&T’s DirecTV, which will introduce Watch ABC TV Everywhere this summer. Hearst Television also will allow the satellite service to stream content from its 14 ABC affiliates.

In addition, ABC-owned stations will use the templates in agreements with Sony Platstation Vue.

Disney Media Networks co-Chairman Ben Sherwood announced the initiative at the annual National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas.

“These efficient, turnkey deals allow our affiliates to opt into partnerships that work for them, preserving the powerful local/national relationship while expediting the delivery of their signals into new consumer spaces that viewers are demanding,” he says. “This is win-win. Consumers get the viewing choices they demand, and our affiliates get distribution opportunities that accelerate their involvement.”
