‘Chicago Fire’ Creators Michael Brandt & Derek Haas Ink New Deal With Uni TV

Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, whose Chicago Fire pilot script helped launch a big drama franchise for NBC, have closed a new multi-year show deal with Universal Television, the studio behind the Chicago series, which are spearheaded by Dick Wolf.

Under the deal, Brandt and Haas will continue to executive produce Chicago Fire and spinoff series Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. Additionally, they are boarding the latest offshoot, legal drama pilot Chicago Justice, as executive producers. The embedded spinoff episode of Chicago P.D. is being filmed this month.

Brandt and Haas, who came from the feature world when they created Chicago Fire, are currently filming the feature thriller Overdrive, starring Scott Eastwood, which they wrote and produced.

The duo are repped by WME, Industry Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.
