‘Elvis Lives!’ Thanks To The Asylum On AXS TV

Sharknado creator The Asylum is at work on AXS TV’s first made-for-TV movie, conspiracy thriller Elvis Lives!
AXS TV, of course, was founded and is CEO’d by The Asylum’s favorite made-for-TV president Mark Cuban. Cuban, you’ll recall, played POTUS Marcus Robbins in Sharknado 3 during which — foretelling Donald “I would bomb the shit out of ISIS” Trump GOP race one year later — President Cuban armed himself to the teeth to defend the White House from flying sharks. President Cuban will best be remembered for the perfect accuracy with which he threw a grenade into a flying shark’s mouth, to great effect.
“With Elvis Lives! we intend to do for the life of Elvis Presley what Sharknado did for flying sharks,” Asylum president and conspiracy theorist David Rimawi warned this morning.
Elvis Lives! purports to take the legend of rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley to the next level, wondering, “What if Elvis never really left the building?”
Per AXS-TV, in round numbers: Plagued by drug addiction and a failing voice, the King is desperate to make things right with himself, his deceased brother and God. His attempts to get back on track are thwarted, however, after he helps the cops bring down a powerful crime syndicate — putting his family in danger and sending him on a journey that will change his life forever.
“When the decision was made to develop AXS TV’s first original made-for-TV movie, I knew I had to get The Asylum team involved because it was a great experience working with them on Sharknado 3,” Cuban said. “They’re the perfect fit to bring this wild ride to life as we celebrate the life and legacy of the the King’s reign, crafting a unique and original storyline that explores the well-known conspiracy theories and allows our viewers to form their own conclusions.”
The Asylum’s partners Paul Bales, David Michael Latt and David Rimawi will produce, along with David Garber. The Asylum also will handle worldwide sales on the film.
