Getting On alumna Patricia Scanlon has booked a recurring role on FX’s comedy series Better Things. From Louis C.K. and his longtime friend and collaborator Pamela Adlon, Better Things is a semi-autobiographical vehicle for Adlon similar to the way Louie is for C.K. It centers on Sam (Adlon), a working actor with no filter trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also — just maybe — squeeze in some private time once in awhile. Scanlon will play Joy, one of Sam’s friends. She is coming off three seasons as union rep Paula on HBO’s Getting On and also is known for her stage performances as the title character in Hildy, Hildy, which aired on TBS. She is repped by BRS Gage and Wright Entertainment.

Angel Bonanni (False Flag) is set for a recurring role opposite Sanaa Lathan on Fox event series Shots Fired. From Gina Prince-Bythewood and Brian Grazer, Shots Fired examines the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. In addition to Lathan, it stars Richard Dreyfuss, Helen Hunt, Stephan James and Stephen Moyer, and 20th TV and Imagine TV are producing. Bonanni will play Javier Cano, Ashe’s (Lathan) ex and father of their young daughter. Bonanni is known for playing the lead role of Sean Tilson in Israeli espionage drama False Flag from Keshet International and also starred in the Argentinian romantic comedy Solmente Vos. He’s repped by Greenlight Management, ADD Content Agency (Israel) and Stone Genow Smelkinson.
