Tim Roth & Christina Hendricks In Talks For Rowan Joffe’s ‘Tin Star’

EXCLUSIVE: Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks are in talks to board Rowan Joffe’s TV series Tin Star for Sky Atlantic. The crime drama takes place in a remote mountain town filled with migrant oil workers. At the heart of it is a police chief forced to confront a rising tide of crime, in so doing becoming a victim of an unspeakable act of violence. The aftershock of that event leads the police chief on a self-destructive path, culminating in the appearance of a ruthless alter ego.

Kudos Film and Television is the production banner behind the series. Chris Strevens produces with Kudos’ Alison Jackson exec producing. Filming is set to begin in the coming weeks.

Roth has maintained his prolific work rate of late with juicy turns in Chronic, 600 Miles, Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, opposite Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick in Mr Right and in Ilya Naishuller’s POV actioner Hardcore Henry. Roth has the BBC’s serial killer true story 10 Rillington Place as well as Reg, the true story of Reg Keys, who lost his son in the Iraq War and then went on to contest Tony Blair’s seat at Sedgefield in the 2005 General Election in the pipelines. He also has the all-star caper film The Brits Are Coming and Leif Tilden’s Life at the Speeds in post.

Hendricks has Nicolas Winding Refn’s anticipated return to form The Neon Demon, with an expected Cannes berth, as well as Richie Keen’s Fist Fight opposite Ice Cube and Charlie Day. She is filming Bad Santa 2 with Billy Bob Thornton. The Emmy-nominated Mad Men alum also appears in the SundanceTV series Hap and Leonard.

Joffe is one of the UK’s more versatile writer-directors, having penned 28 Weeks Later and George Clooney starrer The American as well as writing and directing Brighton Rock and Before I Go to Sleep. He is repped by the Curtis Brown Group and Paradigm.

Roth is repped by Markham, Froggatt and Irwin and CAA. Hendricks is repped by Independent Talent Group, ICM, Link Entertainment and attorney Howard Fishman.
