‘Million Dollar Quartet’ Casts Trevor Donovan; Jamie Bamber Joins ‘Model Woman’
90210 alum Trevor Donovan has been cast in Million Dollar Quartet (working title), CMT’s upcoming eight-episode scripted drama inspired by the Broadway musical. Produced by Leslie Greif and directed by Roland Joffé, Million Dollar Quartet is a period drama timed to the historic 60th anniversary of the famous recording sessions featuring icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Donovan will play Eddy Arnold, one of the most popular country artists of all time and and one of the first to find crossover success in pop. Arnold has been cited as having profound influence on Presley, who cut a number of his songs over the years. Donovan joins previously announced cast members Chad Michael Murray, Billy Gardell, Drake Milligan, Kevin Fonteyne, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Keir O’Donnell, Jennifer Holland and Margaret Anne Florence. Donovan played Kit Acklin in History’s 2015 miniseries Texas Rising. He’s repped by Abrams Artists Agency.
Jamie Bamber has joined ABC’s drama pilot Model Woman in a recasting. He’ll play Lio Fibonacci, a longtime colleague of Bertie and Miller Geiss (Andie MacDowell and Steven Weber) who reads more rock star than agent and opens a rival agency that he plans to take to the top. Felix Gomez initially was cast in the role. The project, from Sony TV’s TriStar Television and ABC Studios, is a fictionalized family soap inspired by Robert Lacey’s book Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty, the recently published biography of the Ford Modeling Agency co-founder. Bamber, repped by Paradigm, Independent Talent Group and Alan Siegel Entertainment, segues to Model Woman after wrapping UK crime drama series Marcella.
