Mark Gordon Teams With ‘The King’s Speech’ Scribe David Seidler On China-Set Love Story ‘Edge Of The World’

The Mark Gordon Company, Koch Company, China’s Pegasus Media Group and the China Film Group are teaming with The King’s Speech scribe David Seidler and Jacqueline Feather on English-language feature Edge of the World. Pegasus and China Film Group will finance the action-filled transcontinental love story, which will be produced by Mark Gordon, Hawk Koch and Jianjun “Jay” Sun. Jeff Aghassi will serve as an exec producer. The project will shoot in China later this year.

The 1930s story is based on actual events as self-driven New York socialite and fashion designer Ruth Harkness goes to Shanghai to find her missing fiance, who had been searching for a mythical creature. She embarks on a quest deep into the heart of China and ends up introducing the Western world to the panda.

Seidler and Feather have co-written a number of feature films including The King and I and Quest for Camelot. They are repped by Jeff Aghassi Management. Seidler is also repped by WME.

The project was brokered by CAA’s Jonah Greenberg.
