The CW Sets Summer Premiere For ‘Penn & Teller’, 2 Others

UPDATED, June 20: The CW said today that Season 3 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us now will premiere Wednesday, July 13, two days later than originally planned.

PREVIOUSLY, April 5: In the summertime when the weather is hot, the CW has revealed just what it’s got. With apologies to Mungo Jerry, the broadcast net today set premiere dates for three summer series: Penn & Teller: Fool Us (July 11), Whose Line Is It Anyway? (May 23) and Masters of Illusion (May 20).

Alyson Hannigan is taking over as host for Season 3 of Penn & Teller: Fool Us, the competition series in which aspiring magicians perform his or her best trick as illusionists Penn & Teller attempt to figure out how it was pulled off. Host Aisha Tyler and castmembers Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie are back for more improv high jinks in the CW’s fourth season of Whose Line, which previously aired for eight seasons on ABC. And the third cycle of Masters of Illusion again will feature tricks performed by illusionists and escape artists, ranging from interactive mind magic to comedy routines.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us is created and produced by 117 Productions and September Films, with executive producers Penn Jillette, Teller, Peter Adam Golden and Andrew Golder. Trom Angst Productions and Hat Trick Productions, Whose Line Is It Anyway? is executive produced by co-creators Dan Patterson, and Mark Leveson along with Jimmy Mulville, Stiles and Brady. Masters of Illusion comes from Associated Television International with executive producers David McKenzie, Gay Blackstone, David Martin and Al Schwartz.
