‘Sleepy Hollow’ Co-Star Confirms Show Exit Following Events Of Tonight’s Episode

SPOILER ALERT: Details about tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow are discussed below.

It might have felt like yet another annoying April Fool’s Day joke for fans of Sleepy Hollow, but alas it was not, as Fox’s supernatural drama said farewell to one of its main characters. In the closing moments of tonight’s episode, Joe Corbin, played by Zach Appelman, was killed off in the episode’s final moments, and Appelman confirmed his departure from the series in a tweet shortly after the episode’s East Coast airing.

Corbin, introduced in season 2, was the son of Sheriff August Corbin (Clancy Brown) and suffered from a curse that turned him into a wendigo (a half-beast creature from Algonquin mythology). Cured of the affliction, he graduated to series regular in season 3 and became love interest to the character Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood). In tonight’s episode he was turned back into a wendigo, forcing Jenny to kill him. Ouch.

While Appelman’s exit is a huge moment for the series, whether or not it will impact future storylines remains to be seen – Fox has not yet said whether or not Sleepy Hollow is renewed. The season 3 finale airs next Friday at 8 PM.
