‘Sharknado: The 4th Awakens!’ Touches Down July 31 On Syfy
Syfy this morning continued to parse out details on the next iteration of its sharks-in-tornadoes franchise. It will be called Sharknado: The 4th Awakens! because a Star Wars gag is a terrible thing to waste. And it will debut on Sunday, July 31 at 8 PM.
The fourth installment of the franchise is set five years after the East Coast was ravaged in last summer’s Sharnado 3: Oh Hell No! Fin (Ian Ziering), his family, and the world at large have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years, but now sharks in tornadoes are being whipped up in places and in ways least expected. Which, in a world where Donald Trump is the GOP front-runner for the White House, seems utterly plausible.
As previously reported, Tara Reid is returning to reveal the outcome of the #AprilLives or #AprilDies social campaign; David Hasselhoff is playing Gil Shepard, and Ryan Newman is Claudia Shepard.
Sharknado: The 4th Awakens! is being produced, as before, by the Asylum, with Anthony C. Ferrante returning to direct Thunder Levin’s original screenplay.
