UPDATED throughout: It’s official. There are two new judges coming to NBC’s The Voice. The Emmy-winning singing competition confirmed tonight that Miley Cyrus, an adviser on the current 10th season, and Alicia Keys will serve as judges for Season 11.

They will be replacing current judge Pharrell Williams as well as Gwen Stefani, who served as judge on the fall cycles of The Voice for the past two years. NBC has been using the adviser role to groom new coaches — Williams was an adviser for then-coach Usher’s team in Season 4 before becoming a coach in Season 7. Keys was an advisor to Williams’ team in Season 7.

Williams, who has done four cycles back-to-back, will sit Season 11 out but is expected to return for a future stint depending on his schedule. Since The Voice coaches have active music careers, some of them have rotated, occasionally taking breaks from the show.

This will mark the first time The Voice has had more than one female coach on the panel. When Season 11 launches in September, Cyrus and Keys will join original coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton who have been on every cycle of the competition.

“The musical expertise and energy these two incredibly talented women will bring to the show is remarkable,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “We’re thrilled that they’ll be joining Adam and Blake in what we know will be a magical 11th season.”

Cyrus earlier confirmed her news via Twitter:

Williams tweeted a congratulatory note to Cyrus.

Stefani is currently on a promotional tour for her new album. Cee Lo Green and Usher also have previously served as judges.

A singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist, Cyrus hosted the VMAs and Saturday Night Live in 2015 alongside being its musical guest. She was named Artist of the Year by MTV in 2013 and has released five No. 1 albums and seven top 10 singles. An as actress, she recently appeared in the Bill Murray holiday special A Very Murray Christmas, The Night Before, and has been cast in the new Woody Allen series for Amazon. Grammy-winning singer and actress Keys most recently recurred on Fox’s hit Empire.
