‘My So Called Wife’ Picked Up To Series By Bravo

Bravo Media has added a third scripted series with a 10-episode pickup for dark comedy pilot My So Called Wife (working title), from Universal Cable Productions and executive producers Adam Brooks, who directed the pilot, and Paul Adelstein. Set to premiere in 2017, the hourlong series joins Bravo’s other two scripted series, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and half-hour comedy Odd Mom Out, returning for a sophomore season this summer.

My So Called Wife was one of two pilots from Bravo’s most recent batch, along with True Fiction, whose future is up in the air. The series pickup marks the first scripted greenlight for Bravo through the new NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment unit led by Bill McGoldrick, EVP, Scripted Content.

“Filled with intrigue and drama along with Bravo’s trademark wink and humor, this series is the perfect addition to the network’s slate as we continue our drive in the scripted arena,” said Frances Berwick, President, Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

My So Called Wife follows Maddie (Inbar Lavi), a master-of-disguise con-artist who gets men and women to fall in love with her, marries them and then disappears with their money and just enough dirty inside information to guarantee they will never go to the police. But things get complicated when her latest victims, Ezra (Rob Heaps) and Richard (Parker Young) track her down just as she eyes her next mark, Patrick (Stephen Bishop).
