‘Justice’ Rounds Out Cast; Rory Cochrane Nabs ‘The Most Hated Woman in America’

Nathan Parsons, Jackson Rathbone and Lesley-Anne Down have joined the cast of Justice, an indie Western starring Jamie Lynn Sigler and Stephen Lang. Set in 1868, it centers on an old abandoned mine that is being transformed into a military stronghold by a corrupt mayor and a band of outlaws hellbent on re-energizing the just-ended Civil War. When a U.S. marshal comes to town and finds out that his brother has been murdered, his search for the killer takes him on a life-or-death struggle for a much greater cause. Parsons plays Marshal James McCord, Rathbone is the marshal’s brother and Down plays the mother of Sigler’s character. Quinton Aaron also booked a supporting role. Parsons, whose credits include The Originals, True Blood and General Hospital, is repped by Innovative Artists and Creative Partners Group. Rathbone, who appeared in The Twilight Saga films and Finding Carter, is with Innovative Artists and Link Entertainment. Veteran Down’s recent credits include The Bold and the Beautiful and the feature I Am Watching You.

Rory Cochrane has landed a role in The Most Hated Woman in America, Netflix’s drama feature starring Melissa Leo and Peter Fonda. It centers on Madalyn O’Hair (Leo), an atheist who got the Supreme Court to overturn prayer in public schools in the landmark Murray v. Curlett ruling. Cochrane will play Gary Karr, an intimidating, prison-scarred thug who is one of the three kidnappers of Madalyn (Melissa Leo), her son and granddaughter. A hothead who likes to wave his gun around, Gary is the most unstable of them all, and his inability to keep control sends the scheme down the tubes. Director Tommy O’Haver, who co-wrote the script with Irene Turner. Cochrane’s credits include Black Mass,  Oculus, Parkland and Argo. Next up in the Berlin competition pic Soy Nero, he is repped by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.
