‘Bye Bye Man’ Moved From Fall To Summer 2016

STX Entertainment

STX Entertainment has moved up the release date for its horror film Bye Bye Man to June 3, taking it out of October. The change from October 14 puts it in the same weekend as the next installment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle franchise and a week after the Fox tentpole X-Men: Apocalypse.

The film, directed by Stacy Title, stars Carrie-Anne Moss and Faye Dunaway. By moving the genre film to the summer, it also takes it off the weekend currently occupied by Sony’s Underworld 5 and Focus Features’ A Monster Calls.

Bye Bye Man was written by Jonathan Penner, who adapted it from the short story The Bridge to Body Island by Robert Damon Schneck. The story follows three college students who unwittingly unleash a supernatural evil known as the Bye Bye Man.
