Jennifer Aniston & Jason Bateman Sell ‘Significant Other’ Comedy Pitch To STX

Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman have sold a comedy film pitch to STX Entertainment titled Significant Other, with the idea that the two would star. Bateman also has an eye to direct this one. He is producing through his Aggregate Films banner, and Aniston is exec producing via her Echo Films.

The script, penned by Andrea Seigel, centers on an up-and-coming, type-A businesswoman (Aniston) who is in the final stages of being recruited for a major CEO position. But before she gets the job, her company wants to meet and vet her spouse (Bateman). James Garavente is the exec overseeing for Aggregate and VP Development Sheroum Kim is overseeing for STX.

Bateman and Aniston teamed on 2010’s The Switch and already are working together on Office Christmas Party, a holiday comedy that DreamWorks Pictures has for a planned December 9 release. Both are repped by CAA and Lighthouse Management.
