White House Race Hands Fox News Another Cable TV Ratings Win; CNN Jumps To No. 2

Fox News Channel’s “Donald Trump has an enormous executive branch debate topped AMC’s The Walking Dead to become the most watched program on all of basic cable last week, while the news network bagged a ratings record with its seventh consecutive weekly win.

Thursday’s GOP debate, in which Trump boasted about the size of his “hands,” scored 16.9M viewers for FNC; AMC’s zombie drama clocked 12.8M Live + Same Day viewers overall.

FNC garnered 4.3M primetime viewers across the full week; CNN shot up to No. 2 in primetime with an average 2.1 million viewers, bolstered by its telecast of the latest Democratic debate, which logged 5.5M viewers.

FNC also finished first in the news demo with 1.1 million viewers for the week. That’s a first for FNC since August,  when it’s telecast of the first GOP debate clocked a whopping 25M viewers.

Last Thursday’s GOP debate was the highest rated of 2016 to date and the second highest rated telecast in FNC’s nearly 20-year history.
