Amanda Seyfried Boarding Andrew Niccol & K5’s ‘Anon’ With Clive Owen

Amanda Seyfried Anon Movie

EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Seyfried is re-uniting with her In Time director Andrew Niccol to star in Anon opposite Clive Owen. K5 Film is producing. Seyfried and Niccol previously worked together on the director’s 2011 dystopian thriller opposite Justin Timberlake. She most recently starred in Ted 2 opposite director-star Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg, and Noah Baumbach’s While We’re Young opposite Adam Driver, Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts.

In psychological thriller Anon, Owen, so good recently as the drug-addled doctor in Cinemax’s The Knick for director Steven Soderbergh, plays a detective in a world with no privacy, ignorance or anonymity. All our lives are transparent, traceable and recorded by the authorities. It’s the end of crime, it seems. However, when Owen’s character stumbles on a young woman (Seyfried) with no digital footprint and invisible to the police, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning.

Seyfried also recently received critical praise for her starring role in her play The Way We Get By opposite Thomas Sadoski. She is currently in production on Mark Pellington’s The Last Word opposite Shirley MacLaine.

Owen is next starring in Luc Besson’s sci-fi epic Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, currently shooting. Anon is produced by Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur at K5 Film. Niccol also produces. K5 Media Group is financing. CAA, which arranged the financing, will rep the film’s domestic rights.

K5 has been ramping up its production activities of late, with Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson starring Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Golshifteh Farahani (About Elly) on its slate. The company also has Chekhov adaptation The Seagull starring Saoirse Ronan, Elisabeth Moss and Annette Bening.

Seyfried is repped by Innovative Artists.
