Sylvester Stallone-Produced NBC Reality Series ‘Strong’ Gets Thursday Slot, Preview Behind ‘The Voice’

NBC has slotted upcoming fitness competition reality series Strong, executive produced by Sylvester Stallone, in the Thursday 8 PM slot, leading to The Blacklist. Strong will succeed in the hour limited series You, Me and the Apocalypse after it finishes its run. The unscripted series will launch with a two-night premiere, which will include two back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, April 13 from 9-11 PM, following a live episode of NBC flagship reality series The Voice; and a regular time slot debut on Thursday, April 14, at 8 PM.

On Strong, hosted by Gabrielle Reece, 20 contestants – 10 male trainers and 10 female trainees – will train together and compete in physical challenges. Stallone, Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser“), Kevin King Templeton (Creed) and Holly Wofford (American Ninja Warrior) executive produce for Sony Pictures TV.

This is the third show and first reality series to air in the NBC Thursday 8 PM slot this season, following limited series Heroes Reborn and You, Me and the Apocalypse.
