HBO’s New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Posters Offer Clues – Or Not – About Jon Snow?

Looking for clues in the new Season 6 poster art for HBO’s Game of Thrones won’t get you very far.
Released in dribs and drabs on social media before finally unleashing all 16 individual character posters today, HBO is being careful not to give away any hints about whether you-know-who survived last season’s stabbing. Yes, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow is included among the creepy Hall of Faces portraits, but so is Pedro Pascal’s late, lamented libertine Oberyn Martell. Then again, maybe there IS a clue: Could this explain Harington’s widely-reported set visits? Most often assumed to suggest that Snow is either a) alive or b) featured in flashbacks, Harington’s presence on-set might have another explanation: Maybe Jon Snow really is dead, but his face lives on (on another person, that is). Just a thought. Anyway, the faces, looking like tombstone statues, make up the skin collection of the Faceless Men, used to create disguises. While the portraits will no doubt be scoured by fans looking for clues, they reveal next to nothing plot-wise, though they sure offer a glimpse of the new season’s spooky mood. In all, the posters give a sneak-peek of such characters as Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). See the group posters above and below.

Game Of Thrones Season 6 premieres at 9 PM, Sunday, April 24 on HBO.
