Quackersz Movie Prelim key art 72dpiEXCLUSIVE: Shout! Factory and Planeta Inform Film Distribution have acquired North American rights to distribute the 3D animated comedy feature Quackerz. Directed and co-written by Victor Lakisov and produced by Rome Animation and Film Studio and A-VFX Studio, Quackerz is about Mandarin ducks who must deal with their world turning upside down when a flock of military mallards lands on the island, mistaking it for Hawaii.

The film is being slated for a limited release sometime early this summer.

Shout! Factory has secured all distribution rights to the film — theatrical, broadcast, video-on-demand, digital and home entertainment rights. The company, which last month picked up another animated film Maya the Bee (and its sequels), plans a strategic rollout of Quackerz across distribution platforms and in packaged media in 2016 through the company’s kids & family entertainment imprint Shout! Factory Kids.

The film features the voice cast of Robbie Daymond (Nickelodeon’s Get Blake!), Michael Gross (Family Ties), Enn Reitel (The Adventures of Tintin, 2011), Alanna Ubach (Meet the Fockers) and Andrea Becker (Storage Wars: New York).

A production of Rome Animation & Film Studio and A-VFX Studio, the film was directed by Victor Lakisov and produced by Vsevolod Zorin, Ruben Atoyan and Oksana Brovchenko. It was written by Bob Underwood, John Mickevich, Vadim Sveshnikov, and Lakisov.
