‘Limitless’ Ratings Dip, ‘Hollywood Game Night’ Jumps, Fox Comedies Even

Tuesday was one of those nights when the adage of what goes up must come down felt a little more pointed than usual – if you were CBS. Although the network won the night in adults 18-49 with the same 1.8/6 rating it got last week and topped viewership with 11.91 million watching, its dramas had a bit of a bumpy ride.

Again the highest-rated show of Tuesday’s primetime, NCIS (2.4/8) bopped up 4% over last week in the key demo. The Mark Harmon-led procedural also saw a small rise in viewership from a massive 17.34 million to a tad more massive 17.37 million. After that, however, ratings gravity kicked in with both lead-out NCIS: New Orleans (1.8/6) and Limitless (1.1/4) taking a hit. The former dropped 10% among 18-49s from its February 16 episode, which was up by just over the same amount from the episode before that. For Limitless, last night saw a slip of 8%, which is a low in early numbers.

While dipping a tenth for a second week in a row, the CW’s The Flash (1.4/5) again took second place in the demo in the 8 PM slot, where NBC saw an uptick for Hollywood Game Night (1.1/4). The Jane Lynch-hosted celeb game show was up 22%, the night’s biggest move. The rest of NBC’s primetime was not so dramatic for its Windy City dramas. Chicago Med (1.5/5) rose a tenth from last week and Chicago Fire (1.6/5) was even with its February 16 episode.

A two-hour Marvel’s Agent Carter (0.7/3) was also even with last week, as was lead-in The Muppets (0.8/3). The beginning of ABC’s night saw Fresh Off The Boat (1.2/4) dip 8% while matching slot rival New Girl (1.2/4), which was even with last week. The rest of Fox’s night of Grandfathered (0.8/3), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (0.9/3) and The Grinder (0.6/2) were unchanged from their February 16 results.

The CW’s iZombie (0.6/2) is also even with its early numbers of last week, though that was adjusted down a tenth in the final numbers, which could happen here.
