‘Transylvania’: Jason Ensler To Direct; Brad Silberling To Helm ‘No Tomorrow’

Jason Ensler has signed on to direct The CW’s drama pilot Transylvania. Written/executive produced by Hugh Sterbakov, Transylvania centers on a headstrong young woman in search of her missing father who ventures from NYC to Transylvania where she teams up with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard Detective, and together they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history. Ensler directed the pilots for such series as the CW’s Hart of Dixie and TNT’s Franklin & Bash. He is repped by WME.

Brad Silberling, who directed the pilot of Jane The Virgin and three other episodes of the CW comedy, is reuniting with Jane writer/co-executive producer Corinne Brinkerhoff and executive producer Ben Silverman to direct their new CW hourlong comedy pilot based on a Latin American format, No Tomorrow. It centers on Sarah, a risk-averse, straight arrow, female procurement manager at an Amazon-like distribution center who falls in love with Xavier, a freewheeling man who lives life to the fullest because he believes the apocalypse is imminent, to comedic and poignant results as they embark on a quest together to fulfill their individual bucket lists. Silberling also directed the pilot for the CW drama Reign. He is repped by UTA.
