eOne Closes Deal For George Clooney’s ‘Suburbicon’ For UK, Bloom Sells Out Worldwide – Berlin

EXCLUSIVE: In an extremely competitive situation, eOne has closed a deal for George Clooney’s Suburbicon for the UK. The deal is believed to be in the $5 million range. This was a much sought-after title in the UK, with a number of the big indies in the mix. Alex Walton’s Bloom is handling international.
This follows on from Paramount’s big domestic deal in the $10 million range, CAA handled the domestic sale on that one. Starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Josh Brolin and Oscar Isaac, Suburbicon is written by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen. The film is produced by Joel Silver on behalf of Silver Pictures, Clooney and Grant Heslov on behalf of Smokehouse Pictures, and Teddy Schwarzman on behalf of Black Bear Pictures, who will finance the project.
Clooney sat down with buyers in Berlin to tub-thump the project after opening the festival with Hail, Caesar! Bloom later announced the project, has proven to be the hottest title at this year’s market so far, has now sold out.
