‘The Simpsons’ Nancy Cartwright Launches Production Banner Spotted Cow With First Projects In Place – Berlin

The Simpsons voice actress Nancy Cartwright has announced the launch of her new film and television production company, Spotted Cow. With an eye on global audiences, the outfit will look to finance, produce and acquire live action and animated films, television series, as well as entertainment for digital platforms with budgets up to $15M.

Heading up Spotted Cow: Producer and longtime collaborator with Cartwright Peter Kjenaas in onboard as President, while producer Monica Padro has been tapped as Vice President. The company’s first project is the coming of age drama In Search Of Fellini starring Ksenia Solo, Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub. Inspired by Cartwright’s early years in the entertainment industry, the film recently wrapped in Italy and was directed by Taron Lexton and written by Cartwright and Kjenaas. AMBI Distribution is repping worldwide rights and presenting it to buyers at EFM. Kjenaas and Padro are executive producing alongside Kevin J. Burke, founder of entertainment business management firm Wiseman & Burke.

Spotted Cow’s follow up project is a partnership with Parkside Pictures and Dark Rabbit Productions, The Institute. Starring James Franco, plot and other details will be unveiled at a later date, with the film seeing release in late 2016. Kjenaas, Padro, and Burke are executive producing, and Cartwright serves as producer.

Cartwright is best known for her role as the voice of Bart Simpson on the Fox television series The Simpsons. Other roles include Chuckie Finster in The Rugrats and All Grown Up, and Rufus in Kim Possible. She has also appeared onscreen including on Fame, Cheers, and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
