Cinemax Is Now Available To Cord Cutters Via Sling TV

Cinemax isn’t just for cable and satellite subscribers anymore. Dish Network’s $20-a-month Sling TV streaming service just began to offer the sister channel to Time Warner’s HBO to users willing to pay an additional $10 a month.

Sling TV LogoThe offering makes Sling “the first live standalone Internet TV service to deliver Cinemax to an audience of cord-cutters and cord-nevers,” says the streaming company’s CEO Roger Lynch.

Cinemax’s Max Go streaming app is limited to traditional pay TV subscribers.

Like with Max Go, Sling customers who also buy Cinemax will be able to watch the live channel and access more than 500 movies and TV shows on demand. The programming includes original series The Knick, Banshee, Strike Back, Hunted, and upcoming series Quarry and Outcast.

Last year, Sling began to offer HBO for $15 a month.
