Showtime Taps Rolling Stone Articles For Docuseries Pilot

Showtime is covering Rolling Stone. Actually, the premium cabler today confirmed that it has ordered a pilot based on articles from the venerable music and pop culture magazine.

Showtime told Deadline’s sister publication WWD that it is moving forward on an untitled “pop culture-focused docuseries in the vein of Rolling Stone,” the Wenner Media title that will mark its 50th anniversary next year. The pilot will be produced by Left/Right, which also is behind the network’s political docuseries The Circus: Inside The Greatest Political Show On Earth. Gus Wenner — son of Rolling Stone founder Jan Wenner and who runs the company’s digital ops — will executive produce along with Banks Tarver and Ken Druckermann.
