‘Taken’ NBC Series: Alex Graves To Direct

Alex Graves has been tapped to direct and executive produce the pilot episode of Taken, NBC’s straight-to-series adaptation of the hit movie franchise from EuropaCorp TV USA and Universal Television.

Written and executive produced by Alex Cary (Homeland), who serves as showrunner, the Taken TV series is a modern-day prequel to the film franchise that depicts how Bryan Mills — played in the movies by Liam Neeson — developed and sharpened his particular set of skills.

Graves, an Emmy-winning director-producer for his work on The West Wing, has directed multiple episodes of Homeland, on which Cary was an executive producer; Game Of Thrones; and Shameless. He has helmed the pilots for such series as Fringe, Proof and Terra Nova.

Cary executive produces the series alongside Luc Besson (who co-wrote and produced the three-movie franchise), and EuropaCorp’s Matthew Gross, Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros.

Graves is repped by WME and Craig Emanuel.
