‘The Boondocks’ Creator Aaron McGruder Signs With ICM Partners

ICM Partners has signed writer, producer and series creator Aaron McGruder.

McGruder is best known for creating and executive producing the Peabody Award-winning television series, The Boondocks, an animated sitcom that aired for four seasons on Adult Swim, based on his award-winning, long-running comic strip. His live-action comedy, Black Jesus recently wrapped its second season on Adult Swim, where he has a first-look deal. McGruder is presently writing scripts for a third season of the series in addition to developing multiple feature films, including a feature based on Black Jesus. He also co-wrote the George Lucas feature Red Tails based on the Tuskegee airmen in World War II.

In addition to his Peabody Award, McGruder is a recipient of the NAACP Chairman’s Award and is a frequent public speaker on political and cultural issues.

McGruder is also repped by Levity Entertainment Group and Morris Yorn.
