Lesli Linka Glatter To Direct History’s Military Drama ‘Six’

Homeland director Lesli Linka Glatter has signed on to helm the first two episodes of of History’s new military drama Sixfrom A+E Studios and The Weinstein Company. She also will serve as an executive producer of the series.

Written by William Broyles (Castaway, Apollo 13, Jarhead) and David Broyles, a military special operations veteran, and inspired by current events, Six follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, the best of the best, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. The drama is inspired by real missions, capturing SEALs’ complex personal lives and the life-and-death decisions they make, with each season set in a different location, starting with Africa.

“Lesli is one of the most talented directors in the business and her strong sensibilities and vision will be invaluable to setting the tone for Six,” said Jana Bennett, President and General Manager of History. “Not only is she an incredible talent, but A+E Networks has been a leader in providing more behind-the-camera opportunities for gifted female storytellers and incorporating her voice in a male-dominated landscape is vital to the success of the series.”

The Oscar and Emmy-nominated Glatter last week received her sixth DGA Award nomination (her fourth for Homeland). Her other extensive directing credits include episodes of Mad Men, Ray Donovan, Masters Of Sex, The Leftovers, The Walking Dead, among many others. She received an Oscar nomination for Best Short Film, Live Action for Tales of Meeting and Parting (1985).

Glatter is repped  by WME, Anonymous Content and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler and Feldman.
