Transparent‘s Melora Hardin has been cast in Paul Osborne’s indie thriller Cruel Hearts. She joins Eddie Jemison (Oceans Eleven), Patrick Day (Favor), Alev Aydin (Lonely Boy) and Bonnie Root (Bones). Written and directed by Osborne, the film follows a young man who discovers that he’s been having an affair with a woman who is married to a notorious crime boss. In fear of what may transpire if caught, he makes a bold decision to confess his transgressions in hopes for forgiveness. The plan works, and the pair form an unusual, and ultimately dangerous, friendship.

Hardin, who is repped by The Kohner Agency, plays Tammy Cashman on Amazon Studios’ Emmy winner Transparent. Her film credits include the Ryan Reynolds starrer Self/Less, 17 Again and 27 dresses with Katherine Heigl.

Conspicuous Pictures and Verax Films are producing Cruel Hearts in association with Dark Ash Films. Joe Pezzula and Jonathan Brown are producers, and Leslie Osborne, Mark Relyea, Robert Hornak and Bill Eikost are executive producing.

Cristina Rosato has booked the role of Alice in Bad Santa 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2003 film featuring the return of Billy Bob Thornton, Tony Cox and Brett Kelly in their original roles. Kathy Bates, Christina Hendricks, Ryan Hansen, Jenny Zigrino and Jeff Skowron also are aboard the sequel.

Rosato stars in the Art of More along with Christian Cooke, Kate Bosworth, and Dennis Quaid.  The series premiered November 19 on Sony’s Crackle and was renewed for a second season shortly after. She’s repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment, KC Talent in Vancouver and MCM in Montreal.
