Santa Barbara Film Festival Lineup Set: Terrence Malick’s ‘Knight Of Cups’ To Bow

The lineup for the 2016 Santa Barbara Film Festival has been unveiled. The 31st edition runs February 3-13 and showcases 52 world premieres and 53 U.S. premieres from over 60 countries. Among the U.S. bows: Terrence Malick’s Knight Of Cups, which has been set as the festival’s Centerpiece Film on February 7 at the Arlington Theater.

Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett star and the pic centers on Rick (Bale), a writer whose quest to break the spell of his disenchantment takes him on a series of adventures with six alluring women. Frieda Pinto, Isabel Lucas, Imogen Poots, Wes Bentley, Brian Dennehy and Teresa Palmer co-star.

The fest’s closing night film is Xavier Giannoli’s Marguerite, and it opens with the U.S. premiere of Mark Osborne’s The Little Prince which had already been announced.
