Arrow Taps Howard Swartz To Build U.S. Biz; Studio Glam Sells ‘The Decision’ – Global Briefs

howard swartzArrow Media, maker of Investigation Discovery’s See No Evil, has named Howard Swartz as EVP of development and production. The former Discovery Channel exec will work with Arrow co-founders and joint Creative Directors, Tom Brisley and John Smithson, to drive the U.S. development slate and production output. The UK-based indie specializes in adventure, science and technology, and nature and history programming for the UK, U.S. and international markets. Swartz most recently served as VP, Documentaries and Specials at Discovery Channel where he oversaw Skywire Live With Nik Wallenda and Shark Week 2015, among other programming. He was also previously exec producer on PBS science series NOVA and also held an EP post at National Geographic Channel.

logo-studio-glam_thumbThe Extra Mile creator Studio Glam has sold its new format, The Decision, to producers in the UK, Denmark and Belgium while receiving a first-season order from Israel’s Channel 10. A factual entertainment series, each episode features a person struggling with a life-changing decision. Two hosts with differing opinions accompany the subject on a 48-hour journey, making five meaningful stops along the way before returning home where the decision will be announced to the person’s family. In the UK and Ireland, the format will be produced by The Voice Of Ireland‘s ShinAwil. In Denmark, Red Arrow’s Snowman is making it and the Belgian version has been optioned by ButterFish (De Chien A Chat). The Decision is distributed directly by Tel Aviv-based Studio Glam which was founded by former Keshet Channel 2 Head of Entertainment and Reality Ami Glam and his wife Ilan in 2013.
